What We Do: Our Strategic Pillars...
The Healing Distress Organization (HDO) merges practical mental health care with biblical truths. Warmly received by both local authorities and communities, we operate on three strategic pillars:
Scripture Engagement & Practical Care
We meet the holistic needs of the hurting through contextualized ministries:
- Trauma Healing Training: Training locals to help those with mental health problems, through facilitators certified by the Trauma Healing Institute.
- Counseling Services: Providing a safe, confidential space for individuals to process trauma and emotional wounds.
- Media Production: Writing, recording, and distributing indigenous worship songs and videos that speak directly to Cambodian hearts. The Bunong Video Project is a ministry of HDO in Mondulkiri Province.
- Community Outreach: Healing extends beyond counseling sessions and healing groups. We actively love our neighbors by serving the community in practical ways, like providing nutritious meals for youth, supporting local tutoring programs, mentoring young adults as they navigate life, and offering support for refugees.
